What I made

keep as is, or change to "Every day".

Everyday I strive to learn how to elevate my community better through art, technology, and advocacy. This was the advocacy year.

As Vice President of the UNC Graduate and Professional Student Government for 2025–2026, I represented 11,553 graduate and professional students. I sat on the Joint Governance Council and the GPSG Cabinet, and served as an ex officio member of the Senate Rules & Judiciary and State of Graduate and Professional Students committees.

Two threads ran through the term. The first was money. On the Student Fee Advisory Subcommittee and the Tuition and Fee Advisory Taskforce, I reviewed the annual mandatory-fee requests that fund athletics, student health, campus recreation, the Carolina Union, educational technology, transit and SafeRide, campus security, and student organizations.

The second was AI. I was the graduate student representative on the Provost's Generative AI Committee and the University Libraries' AI committee, and on the AI Advisory Committee I worked with School of Education faculty to establish generative-AI guidelines for course syllabi.

Beyond campus, I served on the UNC System Association of Student Governments' Academic Affairs, External Affairs, and Strategic and Social Innovation committees. I also served on the Future of the GPSG committee.

Outcome

  • Represented 11,553 graduate and professional students for the 2025–2026 term.
  • Reviewed the annual mandatory-fee requests that fund athletics, student health, campus recreation, the Carolina Union, educational technology, transit and SafeRide, campus security, and student organizations.
  • Helped establish generative-AI guidelines for course syllabi with School of Education faculty.

were there specific fee decisions, resolutions, or policy changes from the year that you can name publicly? None are in the brief, so nothing is claimed here.

Process

In the same 2025–2026 span, my Graduate Research Assistant role at EdIT (Aug 2025 – Jul 2026) had me delivering about 10 one-on-one and small-group trainings for faculty and staff on generative-AI tools, Apple hardware, projectors, and networking.

the sources date the VP term only to 2025–2026, so the exact overlap with the EdIT role is unconfirmed, and no source connects the trainings to the AI committee work. Did they inform each other? What did a typical week look like across the Cabinet, Senate committees, and fee review?
